What is the estimated value of this piece and what is its history? It has no chips and shows no evidence of ever being used as a planter as it is very clean. It measures 7" high and 8 1/8" long. I saw one like it on e-bay yesterday which was apparently not in as pristine condition as this one listed for $150. I know however that what they are listed for and what they sell for are not always the same thing ?

Answer:

I saw the one you mentioned on ebay. In today's Market I do not think it will sell for that much. The economy affects Collectibles as well as everything else. In an antique mall I would expect to see one for 50.00-60.00. It is a piece you don't come across every day.
