I found this vase while thrifting in Atlanta, Ga about a year ago. Today someone posted an identical vase in a Facebook pottery group I follow. A discussion followed and the consensus is that this a Nelson McCoy vase. It is 8.5 inches tall and 5" wide at the widest ring. My vase has a faint mark that looks like V2. The other person's vase does not have a legible mark. We would love to know if this vase is authentic and its age and value if known. ?

Answer:

This is a genuine McCoy vase. There were two marked this way...one is V - 1 and one is V2...unusual but neat!. It was made in the late 1920's and can also be found as a lamp base.
